Susan Parkes
General Counsel, Vice President

Susan Parkes is General Counsel & Vice President of Compliance and Ethics. Susan joined Alyeska in April of 2007 as Assistant General Counsel. She assumed her new role on the Executive Team in January 2011. Before joining Alyeska, Susan worked for the State of Alaska, Department of Law for 20 years. Just prior to coming to Alyeska, Susan was the Deputy Attorney General for the Criminal Division. In this capacity she was responsible for staffing and supervising 13 offices State-wide, she also spent most of the legislative session in Juneau testifying on bills and issues affecting the criminal justice system.

Susan was born and raised in Oregon. She earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Oregon. She attended Law School in the State of Washington at the University of Puget Sound. In 1986, after earning her J.D., Susan came to Alaska for a one year adventure as a law clerk for the Court of Appeals. During that year, she fell in love with Alaska, and met her husband Nick, and has remained in Alaska ever since. Susan and her husband are avid recreational boaters who spend as much time as possible cruising the waterways of Prince William Sound.
