American Petroleum Institute names Alyeska
for top environmental performance in 2009

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The American Petroleum Institute (API) presented its annual awards on April 21 at its 61st Pipeline Conference in New Orleans. During the conference, Alyeska was recognized with API's 2009 Environmental Performance Award in the large operator category.

The Environmental Performance Award is presented to companies with a track record of stellar environmental performance. Specifically, Alyeska won the award for reporting the best 2009 combined record of 0.00250 bbl released per mile, one of the many accomplishments that made 2009 one of Alyeska's best years for safety and environmental performance.

This award marks the second year in a row that Alyeska has received this designation.

"I want to thank our employees and contractors, the men and women who made this possible," said Kevin Hostler. "Your service and dedication make the trans-Alaska pipeline one of the safest and most reliable pipelines in the world. Thank you."
