Alyeska Pipeline Service Company
is pleased to announce the appointment of Michelle Egan as
Director of Corporate Communications. Egan will join Alyeska on
June 30 and will be responsible for all of the company’s formal
internal and external communications, including media relations,
community relations, government relations, and stakeholder
relations.

confident that her proven experience and skills in communications
will support Alyeska as we move ahead on safely and efficiently

Egan was raised
in Kodiak and has nearly two decades of professional experience in
communications. Egan spent the past 10 years leading the
communications department at the Anchorage School District. As
Director of Communications there, Egan managed internal and external
communications programs and advised the superintendent and executive
staff on communications strategies, media relations, and legislative
issues. Prior to the school district, Egan held communications
positions with the Anchorage Economic Development Corporation and
Junior Achievement of Alaska. She has a B.A. from Boston College in
Psychology and holds the APR (Accredited in Public Relations)
certification.

in Anchorage, Alyeska operates the Trans Alaska Pipeline System
(TAPS). The 800-mile pipeline celebrated its 30th anniversary during
the summer of 2007. In its traverse from Prudhoe Bay on the North
Slope south to the Port of Valdez, the northernmost ice-free port in
the Untied States, the pipeline crosses three mountain ranges and 34
major rivers and streams. The company also maintains operations in
Fairbanks and Valdez and at various pump stations along the line.
Since operations began, more than 19,000 oil tankers have been
loaded with Alaska crude oil at the Valdez Marine Terminal.

maintain TAPS for the Owner companies. The TAPS Owners are BP
Pipelines (Alaska), ConocoPhillips Transportation Alaska, ExxonMobil
Pipeline Company, Unocal Pipeline Company, and Koch Alaska Pipeline
Company.
