TAPS crews tackle Chandalar Lake drill

Late this summer, on the morning of August 26, Oil Spill Response Crews from Pump Station 4 and Pump Station 5 came together for a drill of a simulated spill on the Chandalar Shelf, a region just south of Atigun Pass in the Brooks Range.

See video.

The scenario involved setting up recovery material in two locations on the Chandalar River. The first location was directly adjacent to the Haul Road, and the second location, 30 miles from the Haul Road, required that personnel and materials be airlifted in via helicopter.

In all, Alyeska employees and eight Alyeska contractors took part in the exercise. Click on the following link to watch a short video of the exercise.
