Valdez Marine Terminal Fire & Rescue Team wins state title, tackles training

For the 11th consecutive year, Alyeska’s Valdez Marine Terminal Fire Brigade won the Alaska Firefighter Competition Governor’s Trophy at the 2009 Statewide Firefighting Conference. To see a video with scenes from the event, click here.

Alyeska’s competition team included Brian Beauvais, Sean Wisner, Jennifer Stubblefield, Steve McCann, Justin Major, Ken White, Matt Smelcer and Greg Matthieu.

The Valdez Brigade consists of 60 professional firefighters – 16 full time firefighters contracted through Doyon Universal Services, and 44 trained Alyeska technicians who provide fire and rescue services on the terminal. Alyeska has six fire and rescue apparatus, including one ambulance on the terminal.
